$115,000... that's a lot of money, isn't it? yes, i think so... that is the amount of money last year's Relay For Life raised on SMU's campus for American Cancer Society. this is an organization that is really close to my heart and i have been involved with the program for the past eight years. last year i was on SMU's Relay For Life Board as the activities and entertainment co-chair. this year i am the head of the 2008 event. i am so excited for all for all of the event and i really want more participation that ever. SMU's Relay, last year, was the largest fundraising college event for ACS! it was great! i want to do it even bigger this year! This years theme for the event is CELEBRATE. REMEMBER. FIGHT BACK! and i think that it fits perfectly. i am going to fight for more and i am not going to stop until cancer is eliminated. if any of you would like to participate in this event, please go to www.smurfl.org. the date of the event is april 11th-12th. it is an overnight event resembling the idea that cancer never sleeps to neither will we when we are fighting it.
